As the notion of investing in a One-to-One Program has approached, I am thrilled to offer my opinion on this matter. As we as educators search for innovative ways to challenge and engage our students, it is undoubtedly necessary that we consider a One-to-One Computing Program. Children utilizing such programs are gaining hands on, firsthand experiences on how to actively be engaged in their learning and future success. One- to- one programs can provide children with the opportunity to be actively involved with their learning from the initial planning until the initial engagement. Engagement activities can include group projects involving the use of computers; this is a means of allowing children to explore together and asset each with various aspects of technology. As result, students foster their learning and become personally responsible.
While there is a lot of planning that should be considered prior to initiate such a program. For example, there needs to be an extensive amount of professional development provided to educators on using such a program, in an effort to maximize it and get the most from it. Also, supporting the teachers in such a transition provides a support for the students.
Upon completing this article and already having some knowledge on One-to-One computing, I would highly encourage this school to proceed to securing a One-to-One program because the benefits and the uses will assist the students tremendously in a world in which technology is becoming the forefront of careers, education, etc. it is important to equip our students with the hands on experience that will give them the advantage.
